Taking BrandActiv to new heights

From a strong local base to a regional perspective, from an international portfolio to igniting our local savoir-faire, our new COO Patrice Marie shares with us his vision after a few weeks within the BrandActiv family.

"BrandActiv, over the years, has established a solid foundation to become a reference in the distribution and FMCG arena, thanks to a motivated and engaged team with the right mindset to succeed.

The list of strong brands speaks for itself and endorses the trust that our strategic partners and principals have given us.

My main focus will be on consolidating and optimising these assets whilst expanding and looking at exciting new projects that would stimulate growth locally and beyond our borders. We aim to continue to attract and nurture great brands to better satisfy our stakeholders.

We want to extend our reach within and beyond the Indian Ocean. We have strong ambitions to seize opportunities that the African continent has to offer as there are some attractive markets where we could replicate and develop further our strengths.

Being consumer-centric in this competitive environment is key and this entails getting to know our consumer better. It isn’t sufficient to only be in line with the latest trends but it is imperative that we go even further to better anticipate and respond proactively to what the consumers fancy. With the extensive knowledge of our markets we have got to be ahead of the curve and surprise them.

As much as we want to continue to expand and grow our international brands portfolio, we aim to also strengthen and develop the local portfolio. We have already some strong recognised local brands with great consumer acceptance and recognition. To name just one is La Tropicale ice creams and sorbets. We need to fuel this momentum, seize new business opportunities and showcase the Mauritian savoir-faire of strong local quality products with international standards.

The use of digital media and technological tools are capital for evolving further and to enhance these into every aspect of our operations and communications.

You don’t change a Winning formula and I feel privileged to have joined BrandActiv’s team and work alongside the existing experienced team and push them to new heights. I strongly favor an Activ cluster approach to explore new perspectives together and continue to bring life to our brands and delight our consumers."
